Hip hop was born in the 1970s in the Bronx, New York. It started at block parties where DJs played music, people danced, rapped, and came together to have fun!
How it started!
A DJ named Kool Herc is often called the “founder of hip hop.” He used two turntables to play the same beat over and over, creating “breakbeats” so dancers could show off their moves!
